El Sartén Latino: Reviews & Ratings
Order to go and I can’t lie to you my peeps I give this place a solid 9/10 for overall experience. Food is tasteful and greenish sauce for the sandwich was bomb! Worth a try and prices are standard with most other restaurants…. Two thumbs up!!!
Wow! We came here from Conyers because we were craving Puerto Rican food. It met our expectations! Literally everything we tried was delicious! Great flavor, portion size and temperature. You must try the juices! They are fresh and so tasty! We are so glad we found this little gem. Highly recommended!
I’m in GA for work and a co worker told me about this little gem. I feel there is nothing like a home cook meal and this is as close as it gets to me. I love the Latin flavor and this food was delicious. I got oxtail with rice and sweet plantains and I can’t complain about anything. Service was great, food delicious, and I’m glad I was told about this place, will definitely come back again.
8.12.2025 - met one of my best friends here for lunch. We both really enjoyed our meals. My fish was perfectly fried. It reminded me of my grandmother’s fried fish… whole, perfectly seasoned and perfectly fried. If I lived on that side of town, I would definitely frequent this restaurant The space is small, with only about 6-8 small tables. The staff is welcoming The flan was ok. Not as sweet as I like it and a little too much spice…. But still good
**Update: 28 June 2025** Wanda ended up selling her restaurant a couple of months ago. It's still under the same name. I ate there, and the taste is still consistently good!! I ordered the baked and stewed chicken, peas + rice, cornbread, and fresh-squeezed mango juice. Their cornbread tastes like cake!!! Food was so good that I had to bring a plate home to my daddy. I bought him the same food I ate. Christian was the young guy who served me. Great customer service. He also gave me military discount, just like Wanda used to do. Although the food is still good here despite the switch in ownership, I'm gonna miss sweet Wanda!!! But Christian did say Wanda stops by there from time to time to check on how business is doing at her old restaurant. Anyways, if I lived closer, I would totally dine here at least once a week. But since I live an hour away in Kennesaw, I'm only able to make it out this way every 2 months. **Original review from a year ago** ¡Tengo hambre! Wanda Hernandez is the beautiful owner. She is such a talented chef. Every time I'm in McDonough, I stop at her Dominican spot to eat. It's a must! I love you, Wanda!!
Best place around... food and service always a hit!!! My favorite new spot I go there at least once a week with my daughter... food taste like my mom's...fresh and auténtically Dominican.
Came here tonight to get takeout with my sons - the owner is nice and welcoming! My older son had the baked chicken with rice and peas and he practically inhaled it. I had the mofongo with chicken - my older son ended up eating the rest of my plate because I ended up getting full from the tostones
Wow! This is a hidden gem restaurant. It is small but inviting. The young man behind the counter is soft spoken and friendly. But the food…it is packed with flavor. I tried the stewed chicken with rice & peas and a tres leches cake for dessert. I literally can’t stop eating it. Even the plantains were cooked to perfection. Not too soft, not hard. Caramelized just right and not too sweet. I can’t wait to come back and try more dishes like their oxtails, goat & fried red snapper. The tres leches cake is a small personal size but it was just right! Moist but not soaked and sweet but not too sweet. I literally cannot find any flaws here. The gentleman who served my friend and I also told us to sit and enjoy our meals before we paid. Like who does that? Definitely go check out this small & what I’m assuming is a family business. Edit: I visited a second time and tried their stewed pork and black beans. Both were excellent.
